lancexhudson.eth is my Web3 domain on the Ethereum blockchain. Inspired by the DNS protocol, the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) turns cumbersome crypto wallet addresses into a human-readable medium. Without it, my Ethereum address would look something like ... 0x4fEfcc5a3B0701d6Ee073003058d1c66E1d54A1d, and that is just nasty.

With an ENS domain, users have the ability to not only host content but also exchange value with anyone in the world who has a smartphone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Web3 has been best described as the read-write-own iteration of the internet. Thanks to Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin and blockchain technology, the connectivity of the HTTP protocol is now layered with a growing decentralized network of nodes providing security, immutability, and trustlessness. For the first time, internet users have the ability to own, secure, and monetize their data without intermediaries, regardless of their jurisdiction.

I've been neck-deep in the crypto/DeFi space for almost a decade. Thus, I naturally gravitate towards writing code and deploying it to a blockchain. It's a technology that I understand and believe has some powerful use cases and will eventually be as ubiquitous as the internet. From a technical perspective, a resume is no different from Bitcoin, NFTs, or music in that, at a base level, it's all just bytecode. So it begs the question, why not host anything on a blockchain?
